Make Your Eyes Pop With Latisse Eyelash Treatments

Latisse Eyelash Treatments A Younger Look Wellness & Laser Center

What if you could have fuller, longer lashes without mascara? What if you were able to wake up and go without having to spend time applying false eyelashes, or worrying about them coming off if they get wet? What if you never had to set an appointment for extensions again?

Latisse eyelash treatments are FDA-approved to grow fuller, longer, and darker eyelashes with regular use. The active ingredient, bimatoprost, was originally used in the drug Lumigan to treat glaucoma until doctors found an extra side effect: patients who used it grew longer eyelashes. Today, Latisse is specifically formulated and prescribed to patients desiring that extra oomph in their eyelashes.

Dr. James Andrews at A Younger Look Wellness & Laser Center in San Jose, California, offers Latisse eyelash treatments for patients who don’t have the eyelashes they desire. This treatment offers incredible, natural-looking results at an affordable price.

Although useful for patients who are simply tired of false eyelashes or mascara application, Latisse is especially helpful for patients who have hypotrichosis- or sparse, short, thin eyelashes. Eyelashes, like the hair that’s on the rest of our body, sprout from the follicles, grow, and then eventually fall out to make room for new lashes. The Latisse eyelash serum works to both extend your eyelashes’ growing phase in addition to increasing the number of hairs that sprout.

How to use Latisse

The Latisse serum is a topical medication applied to the upper lash line each night. Before application, your makeup should be removed, skin cleaned, and contacts removed from your eyes. Apply one drop of the serum onto the applicator, close to the tip but not directly on it. Then comb the applicator at the base of the upper eyelashes, much as you would eyeliner. Do not apply the serum to the lower lid or inner part of your eyelashes.

Once you’ve finished, blot the area gently with a tissue and do the same thing to the other eye with a clean applicator. It’s critical that you use only one applicator per eye! If you need to reinsert your contacts, you can do so 15 minutes after your Latisse application.

What you should expect

You’ll likely begin to see results after about two months (possibly earlier) of using the drug every night. Dr. Andrews will help you to determine if Latisse is a good option for you and the ways in which you should specifically use it after the first couple months. This may mean spacing out treatments to every few nights instead of every night.

Daily use of Latisse begins to show results around a month into your treatment, but you’ll notice full growth and thickness about four months in, on average. Latisse maintenance treatments should be kept up in order to continue seeing results. If you stop using Latisse serum, you will gradually see your eyelashes return to their previous appearance.

Possible side effects of Latisse

Latisse is relatively harmless, but there are some side effects you should take care to watch for. Most of the risk can be minimized with proper use.

Common side effects may include:

As with any medication, Dr. Andrews will fully review your medical history and current health status to determine if you’re a candidate for Latisse or if you have a higher risk of side effects.
